Devan Ekambaram burst into the South Indian film music scene just few years back. Even without formal training in music, he sounds very good and extremely confident in his albums. His spirited and spontaneous rendition of "O Maria" in Kaadalar Dinam, the same song in its Telugu version and in the Hindi version with Remo Fernandez in Dil Hi Dil Mein, all composed by AR Rahman, has made Devans voice very popular and Smye iye iye in Rajiv Menons film Kandu Konden , Kandu Konden & "iru vizhi" from Minnale have done wonders for his career.
Devan is also a wonderful composer. He can play several musical instruments and music is his lifeline now.His first pop album was Kamban oru kannilae with Singer Charan. His second album was released recently and its "Mudhal Mazhaye" with Singer Harish ragavendra. He is hardworking and focussed and knows exactly how he wishes his career to shape. Born and brought up in the US, but he has found his foothold remarkably
well in Chennai!
